Sourcing custom garment trims from Hong Kong and Dongguan
Buyers often ask why they should work through a Hong Kong supplier rather than buying straight from a factory. Here is how the arrangement actually works, and what it changes for you.
Where the work happens
Bestrims Limited is a Hong Kong company, founded in 2004. Sales, artwork handling and quality monitoring are handled from our Tsuen Wan office; production takes place in Dongguan, China, and European customers are supported locally from Italy.
- Hong Kong: enquiry, artwork review, sampling coordination, QC monitoring, documentation
- Dongguan: moulding, injection, high-frequency welding, weaving, transfer production
- Italy: local contact for European customers
What a Hong Kong supplier actually does for you
If you already have a factory you work with directly, that can be perfectly efficient. A coordinator becomes useful when your order is not a single, simple item:
- One supplier across six techniques, instead of a different factory for every component
- Artwork reviewed before tooling, so problems are caught before production
- English communication and documentation handled end to end
- Quality monitoring at every stage, with third-party testing arranged on request
- Smaller quantities spread across several designs, from one supplier
What to prepare before you make contact
The fastest quotes come from enquiries that already answer these:
- Artwork (vector AI/PDF preferred) or a physical sample
- Finished size, outline and number of colours
- The fabric it will be applied to, and how — sewn, heat pressed or adhesive
- Quantity per design, and required delivery date
- Whether you need the whole trim package (main label, side label, patch, hang tag) or one item
Lead times and logistics
Standard timings, confirmed per project:
Sampling takes 5–7 working days and bulk production 14–16 working days, with MOQ from 1,000 pcs per design. Shipping can be arranged from Hong Kong or Dongguan depending on the destination and the documentation you need.
Working across time zones
With customers in Europe, North America and Asia, most enquiries are answered within one working day. If you need a call, tell us your time zone and we will find a slot that works — including early mornings for European buyers.
